coments held by the moderation gods on R's blog

iinternet romances are like writing to death row inmates

all “romance”, no obligation

welcome to land of PUAs. All “romance” and no obligation(ring).

xsplat Girls imagine they are in a relationship. Imagination is a powerful thing.

very true and it’s why some women hear what we want when men clearly say the opposite.

Use a woman’s imagination to your advantage. I’m not talking about P&D stuff, I talking about when you really want to be with a woman. Playing around with a woman’s imagination when you aren’t serious can get you in serious trouble… possibly an episode on snapped.

xsplat Being less mundane probably means less reality, not more.

but it is the mundane that usually spells the end of romance and romantic love. You’re still in love but not in lust and your eye wanders just a little bit more. Your fantasies of other women become just a bit more intense. You start thinking of exit stratagies etc…

xsplat Chic, by that logic a girl with pictures of horses and ponies on her wall “really” loves horses. And when she graduates to pictures of puffy faced pretty boys, she “really” loves them

Nope, cause a woman can’t have a conversation with a picture of a horse or pony on her wall. Online, you can get pass the superficial because the face isn’t the first thing you see, it’s the words.

You know that women are verbal creatures so it’s much easier to capture a woman’s heart online. I would also argue that male2female romantic gestures and compliments may go over smoother online than in real life.

tell me if I’m wrong xsplat but being rejected online isn’t as soul crushing as it is in real life.

You have a point. A guy that can write well, and use humor can make some headway online. And you can say things online very difficult in real life. But why on earth do you have so many blogs gal?

Indeed. That is why writers on both ends should be realistic and keep expectations manageable. My theory is to look at the online thing as a form of entertainment. Just as you go out and rent a movie for short while, so you can flirt and joke around for a while and enjoy the moment. But all parties should keep in mind that it is only entertainment for a few hours, nothing more- like a DVD rental. Unfortunately it doesn't always work out that way and people begin to assume it is all so real.

"Pookie eased back in his chair. I wonder of this "CHic" character is for real, he mused. He flipped back to her profile, his eyes lingering on her shapely form. No bad, he thought, but it could be a fake picture. I wonder if she is as tall as she claims or whether it is just another lie. Pook had met so many weird characters on line, he was skeptical. He clicked off her page dismissively. And yet.. that red dress... He clicked on again impulsively. Yeap, it was probably fake, or was it? He clicked off again, irritated that he had gone back to her profile page.. "

:)

@TTJ- i don't have a lot of blog,i read a lot of blogs, mostly fashion.

Oh, about men who are verbal. The spooken word artists can clean up with women. I have a friends who call them "conscious hoes".

Unfortunately it doesn't always work out that way and people begin to assume it is all so real.

I see your point but you know for a small number it does become real. there are people who meet their spouses online.

I wonder if she is as tall as she claims or whether it is just another lie.

yes sir 5'9.5 :) how tall are you?

He clicked off again, irritated that he had gone back to her profile page.. "

Can't say I really like the look of Black and East Asian mix. Or the White and Asian mix for that matter. But I'm not a big fan of the East Asian look in general anyway.

What's up with all the Ethiopians in Atlanta???

Hook me up!!!!

;)

Have you been having moderation problems at Mr. R's as well.

Chic Noir said...

The last one says this *Doug gives an alpha laugh and struts off to the beat of bitter beta and 40 year hag on a the rag hateraid*

It seems that Roissy has approved at least some of your pro doug1/bhetti comments.

Roissy eventually approved all of my comments. The problem is they get lost because nobody sees them. When approved they appear in the middle of older comments (based on the time of posting, not approval).

PS
I expressed similar concerns a long time ago (on aoefe's site) and was also called bitter, beta and a hater. Although I agree that I, and the others, should just have left it alone.

@default- but at least your comments weren't mean spirtied in nature. It's okay to disagree but when diagreeing looks like they're backed with jealousy, that's another ball game my handsome.

I will be checking out your comments mylove.

" there are people who meet their spouses online."

Below extracted from www.evanmarckatz.com

In the past three years, 17% of all married couples met through online dating.

This is more than TWICE the number of couples who met through bars, clubs, and other social events.

Did you hear that?

That’s the sound of your preconceived notions being shattered.

Don’t fight it.

Now, to be fair, 38% of marriages came from work and school. And 27% came through a friend or family member.

So clearly that must mean that those are “better” ways of meeting…

Not so fast.

How many people have a job or go to school? About 100%

How many people have friends and family? About 100%

How many people are paying for online dating sites at a given time? Maybe 5%.

What this illustrates is that, proportionally, 5% of the population (online daters) accounts for 17% of the marriages in the past 3 years.

Which goes to show that the people who are dating online are finding love at a significantly higher rate than people who rely on workplace romance or set-ups.
